My Myson thermostatic radiator valve is not working and will not open?

My Myson thermostatic radiator valve is not working and will not open to heat the radiator. I have removed the head and the plastic pin is still working. Can the brass pin in the body of the valve be released in any way to allow hot water to run through the radiator. Can someone advise me please?

I might be too late but for future reference I have just fixed my Myson TRV. I opened the valve fully, unscrewed the knurled ring under the plastic body to release it from the metal valve body. Gave the brass pin a short squirt of WD40 and left it for half an hour. Returned and gave the pin several gentle taps. "Hey Presto", it worked. Best of luck.

Ralph. Taking the valve head off the valve body allows the pin in the valve body to rise and let hot water through to the radiator. So, if you are still not getting heat from your radiator with the valve head removed then it looks like your valve body is faulty. try pushing the brass pin down a couple of times to try to disslodge any debris that might be blocking its' movement.

As far as I can remember Ralph, the pin needs to be depressed to work. Basically I would take the head to a plumbers merchant and ask for a relacement. They used to carry just the heads I dont know if they still do?
