Vokera boiler pressure too high?

For the last couple of weeks boiler pressure has been going up to 3, then coming down, but going to zero when heating goes off and then red light and error messsage appears.
Still under warranty - just - the Vokera service engineer has been out 3 times and has now ordered a new expansion hose but thinks the system may be bunged up with sludge! I'm not hopeful after reading all the previous problems! The filler loop is still on - both the installer and the engineer have left it but another plumber has told us this is illegal according to water regulations! Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thank you both!

System was allegedly flushed prior to installing boiler. Vokera have sent the wrong hose replacement so waiting for new one to arrive. Taking the loop off and capping has made little difference

hi,

sounds like the expansion vessel needs repressurising or replacing. as water heats it expands like anything.the exp vessel is full of air to take up that expanssion.hence if no air in vessel(or poss the hose to it blocked)as the boiler heats the water it expands and pressure increases till it hits 3bar when the pressure relief valve empties the system water outside thus leaving no pressure in the system.

so it does sound like the exp vessel or hose to it could be to blame

ps it is against water bylaws to leave the fill loop connected

(22 yrs working for BGas)

hope this helps a bit

Even if it is illegal to leave the filling loop on which sounds very doubtful, you should be more worried about the sludge, I suggest you get on to the installer as the system obviously has not been flushed, this is a requirement by the manufactures before fitting any new boiler otherwise the warranty is void!
