Nissan Micra 03. New headlight bulb is glowing orange. ?

I have just replaced the headlight bulb (H4 55-60W halogen) but it is glowing orange and cuts out completely when I turn on full beam. Can you help?

There may be bad ground connection to the headlights.

it's broken, change it and see if this makes a difference. keep fingers off the glass part, as this can cause the bulb to fail.
