i had the same job to do and got no replys firstly they are called drum lifters mine was the 1600 nextra hoover have a problem with these i first remove the lid 3 screws at the back slide the lid back making sure it was first isolated from the mains and the water supply i then took off the water pipes from the soap dispencer and then pulled out the hose from the dispenser to the outer drum ,then looking through the hole and rotating the drum you will see the offending problem a little screw and if hoover had moved the hole for the hose over 1" you can get them out, so i had to remove the back of the machine and then the belt and then the pulley after this was removed i then using a brass drift knocked the shaft forward so moving the drum forward at the same time and this allowed me to have acess to the screws i fitted the new lifters at a cost of £30 and the fitting is simply a reversal of the same procedure on the hotpoint all you do is push a round pin down the 3 rd hole from the front and pull it forward job done guess which i buy next? hope this helps it took me about 2hrs and i am a mechcanical fitter
