sagging roof felt in loft?

the felt in my loft is split and sagging how can i repair the problem it is not leaking at the moment but i feel sure it may if not do something soon
Patrick Toothill, November 2010
Older rooves never had felt underneath, they were just left bare or platered underside to stop slates chattering in the wind and working loose.
Rainwater should run off the slates/tiles, felt is only a back up so dont lose any sleep over it at the moment.
Worth doing sometime when u get the chance.

If your felt is split in several places, the only recourse is to remove the tiles and replace all of the felt, best done by professional roofer. Cheaper to do it before the water gets in and rots the roof trusses and ceiling joists.
