Mira shower will not turn off - I need a temporary solution for a week or s?

I have an old mira 723 shower which I cannot turn off and water is slowly flowing out of it. I am getting a new bathroom installed in a couple of weeks, but I wanted to find a way now to stop it running. I can get by without the shower. Does anybody know if it is possible to unscrew the hose that leads out of the mixer, and simply put a cap over the end instead. Would this work? What do I ask for?

Unscrew the hose from the mixer, put a plastic bag over the hole and screw the hose back in. This should seal it for a week or so at no cost until the shower is replaced

When the shower was installed, a service valve or stopcock should have been put in the supply pipe to the shower, so that the shower can be isolated for repairs or servicing. See if you can follow the pipe from the shower to the supply pipe. If not you will have to live with it until your new bathroom is fitted. Make sure that the installers fit a service valve to your shower.
