what is the complete role of the pressure switch?& can it effect the heating of the water?plus how many are there in my dishwasher?

the pressure switch monitors the level of water in the dishwasher.if the level is correct it will switch the power through to the element.there is 2 pressure switches 1 is level and 1 is safety so could be either of these.just check wiring to them as I have had bad connections on them in the past
