Download and install CCleaner from Piriform.com.
It's free and safe.
Go into Options, then Settings. Tick the Secure File Deletion box and tick correct drive.
If you use the Gutmann option in the drop-down menu you can have a 35 pass deletion which should protect your data from just about any Government Agency.
