I have a zanussi washing machine ZWF1632W which previously had given electric shocks from the drum. Now it is drawing so much current that it is tripping out the electrics, any thoughts on what could cause this

If you are still alive, didn't you think that something was seriously wrong with your machine when you got a few shocks from it The machine is lethal and has a serious fault and needs to be unplugged straight away and checked over by a professional engineer before you kill yourself or cause a fire. It seems like there is no earthwire connected to take the fault to earth safetly.
