Eject is messed up?

I put a tape in my cassette player. It would not play, fas forward or rewind. I shut system off and pushed eject button. It seemed to only partially release. I do admit to a small amount of prying the door to get it to open. I did get the tape out intact. But now the eject for the door does not seem to engage as it did before. And the tapes don't seem to want to go in as before. This is a big multi function unit with amp.am/fm radio and belt drive record player in the top. I am hoping this is an easy fix of cassettes tape loading and ejection mec. The tape loads from the front. I bought it from penny's . It is MCS Series Model 2230

The eject works on a gear type system. When you pryed on it the gear allignment probably got off set. The only way to check it is to take it apart and close the door and check the gear allignment. Also the eject button works on a single peg with like a half arrow shape on the end. This is spring operated so check that also while you have it apart. Also I would check the gears & wheels that the tapes run through to make sure that there is no old tape wraped around them. Hope this helps you
