Can anyone tell me what the error code EA means please?

EA is failure to ignite, or failing to rectify flame.

Check:
The gas is on and available:

If your gas meter is outside (depending on your location) make sure the gas governor isn't frozen shut:

The condense leading away from the boiler is likewise unfrozen:
