I have a XJ6 Jaguar with a 6 CD Exchanger the code on the radio say E001 when I try to play the CD
what does this mean

In the 1994 XJS owners manual it says "disc change malfunction - see Jaguar dealer". Any Alpine CD changer using the "m-bus" protocol will work in the 90's Jaguars. Alpine was the supplier to Jaguar for the radio unit and the changer. Even if the car has a Harmon Kardon sound system, HK only provided the external amp.
