what can i do for sound problem in my laptop?

i have toshib laptop when i fix earphone, sound come at the same time from rarphone & speaker of laptop.
so what can i do?

check you are in the correct socket. if still a problem then try another pair of ear phones. plugging in an ear phone should divert the sound to the ear rather than send it to the speakers. The socket could be duff.
