Worcester Bosch 230 - pilot light out, bar at 0?

Pilot light out, Bar at O. Turned off electricity and then back on and switched on central heating/hot water switch as manual says but nothing happens. No spark in pilot light/no pilot light and slight whirring sound which goes away when the central heating/hot water switch is turned off. Repairable? DIY?

underneath boiler there should be flexi silver pipe at one or both ends there is a tap with either a black lever or a slot for a screwdriver sorry can't be more specific but generally speaking if the slot/lever is at right angles to the pipe it's off in line it's on you want it /them to be on to fill
