which pull cord switch to use?

Hello

I am thinking of replacing a pull cord switch as the cord has broken.

Looking inside the switch there are 2 sockets each of which has 2 wires in it. Not clear why 2 wires in each?

The switch controls 5 ceiling lights and an extraction fan. There is also a shower in this bathroom but presumably this will be on a different circuit?

I see at the diy store that these switches are rated at 6 amp and 16 amp. Which do I use? Which part of this type of switch is rated 6 or 16 amp?

Cheers

assuming someone has wired the 5 lights and a fan on to the same pull cord switch then to be on the safe side use the 16A one.
Having said that if the whole circuit is fused at 5 or 6amps then you can use the 6amp switch!
