I am making my own router table and note the manufactured inserts have centre hole reducer discs. What is their purpose as they seem to give no support to the cutters. I have made the insert plate and cut centre hole slightly larger than the largest cutter I'm likely to use. If these discs have a safety purpose then I will have to purchase a manufactured plate with discs.
