Toyota 901 still not knitting in both directions?

Machine is set on PLAIN and problem is still happening.

Hi Jaffy,
Sorry my previous answer did not help. To check that the carriage cams are working properly, remove the carriage from the machine.
Holding it upside down turn the pattern dial and check the movement of the cams. When set for tuck in both directions, slip in both directions and plain the position of the cams should be the same on each side of the carriage. When set for tuck or slip in one direction the cams point in opposite directions. Perhaps one is stuck and is not returning to the correct position to knit the stitches.
Make sure there is no fluff stuck in behind the grooves and lightly oil the moving parts.
If this does not help you might have to have it looked at by a machine repairer.
