The heater stopped working on my AEG Favorit 40650 dishwasher and I have checked the PCB and that appears to be OK. I have been advised to check the thermostat.

How do I access the thermostat element to check it? I have electrical test equipment.

Did you take the pcb out of the plastic housing and solder the pins on the heater relay?.They look perfect but have dry solder joints.Stat isn't normally an issue on this model.have you checked the heater resistance to prove it's OK 29ohms ish.pressure switches and wiring have been an issue and also scale build up in the element causing heater timeouts!
