how can I fix my sherborne recliner chair?

The spring that holds the footrest down has come off (broken off?). I found it lying under the chair, and don't know where it attaches. Help?

hi guys just like some kind of help here on my partners sherborne the leg & foot rest has stopped working so it will not retract, the back works just as it should. would this be the motor.when pressing the buttons on the remote they all light green so I don't think it is the remote part please help and I hope you understand thanks regards malcolm
