Leaking and not emtying?

Hi,
My Ariston diswasher has worked fine up until now but now it will not empty and seems to leak from the door because of this.

I suspect it may be the pump but cannot see how to acccess it.

PS. Have had the bottom plate off, checked the pump for debris, and checked that it actually runs. Both OK.
May be the pump is not being 'told' to run?
