could be the cable,it breaks just below the plug top,
this happens with constant pulling the machine about,unplug the machine,cut back about 6 inches from the plug,refit new plug,the other place it breaks is the cord rewind,two small brushes that run around a ring in the top of the machine,snaps off,a common fault,try the plug first,its a lot cheaper.good luck
