Filter holder in dualit JKT2?

The filter holder has come away from my dualit JKT2 Kettle, can anyone tell me how to get it back in? it seems impossible. I am now having to use it without filter holder or filter. The water pours out very fast so think I will have to stop using it...please any solutions. Thank you

HERE IS THE WAY TO DO IT!
1. Ensure that the tongue on the bottom of the filter holder sits nicely in the socket at the bottom of the kettle.
2. Fill the kettle with water and boil the kettle - it doesn't matter if the filter holder flops away as long as the tongue is still located in its socket.
3. Empty the kettle of the boiling water and using oven gloves, push the filter holder down and under the lip of the kettle.
NOTE: the hot water softens the plastic enough to make the process easy. It is almost impossible to insert the filter holder into place in its COLD condition.

I really struggled to get the holder to compress enough to slip under the lip of the kettle. Answer was simple, boil some water leave it in the almost boiling water and wear latex gloves so you can handle the filter holder safely then pop it in and hey presto it pops in just like that.

Hi, just had replacement filter & holder from spares2go fitted & now working.
Ensure 'lug' at base of kettle is clear of limescale - mine took several goes to clear all scale -the new holder has a small pin to fit in this and firm pressure needs to be applied to the top to fix it under the lip at top of unit. then the filter can be slotted in. Parts cost £10 as opposed to new kettle at £70+...!

Not really a solution - but my 2 year old kettle has just done the same thing.
The bottom part of the filter holder appears to act like a spring which allows the holder to be wedged in to the kettle body. Mine has cracked and so the spring tension has gone and it falls out. I've just sent an email to Dualit to see if they can provide a replacement holder. I would not want to glue or repair the existing one to avoid possible contamination.
Fingers crossed, Pete
