How can I fix my Whirlpool AWOD 5726 F02 problem?

My Whirlpool AWOD 5726 washing machine had stopped working, displaying an F-02 code. I found out this was a draining problem. There were minor bits and pieces (including a straightened paperclip) in the pump filter area, and the pump seemed to have stopped working altogether (no noise from it). I've had the repairman out and pump has been replaced. However, I still get the F-02 error when I try to run a programme (including rinse)... water doesn't seem to be getting INTO the machine (or at least I get the error before it does), though the F-02 drain error is the only code showing. When I add water manually (i.e. by pouring in a few jugs full) and set machine to drain only, it does manage this - i.e. new pump itself is working... The machine didn't drain at all before pump was replaced, so I'm moving in the right direction, but something still not right. Any ideas?

I have looked for blockages and haven't found any... The sink drains normally... The washing machine itself DOES drain if set to drain and nothing else, but returns with the F-02 draining error code (and stops) if set on a rinse/spin/drain or anything longer - before it has actually added any water to itself.
