removing a copper gas pipe?

hi all.
I need to remove a redundant 22mm copper pipe that used to supply mains gas. It is no longer needed and I want to cut the pipe from the used section and termiate it. What would be the best and safest way? a 22mm stop end perhaps?

thanks
