Trouble with a Maytag PAVT234AWW?

This washer is about 1.5 years old. 3 months after we bought it, the pump went out and was replaced under warranty. Since it was new, it has periodically splashed water out during a cycle. It is not overloaded because it has done it with different load sizes. The oversize load setting is never used anymore. We can live with a little water splash, though we don't feel we should have to. The main problem is that when washing towels, even a moderate load, there is always a lot of water left after the spin cycle. We have to run at least one or two more spin cycles to get the water out. This only happens with towels though. Any ideas would certainly be appreciated.

thanks, rick...

The washer is about 3 years old and started to make a clicking grinding noise in the spin cycle about 2 weeks ago and I took off the front panel and there is some white plastic shavings around the base of the transmission. Now the washer no longer spins and we were having some trouble w/off-balance. Is there a plastic gear or something and is it a easy repair.
Thanks
Fred

check your drain hose and make sure that it doest have a kink in it. for some reason your not pumping the water out fast enough so the centrifugal force of the tub spinning is making an exxcessive amount of water rise to the top. if it has been doing it ever since you got it i would definitely contact your local maytag servicer and raise cain!
