How do I change the belt on my Dyson?

Can't figure out how to remove the yellow housing part to get to the belt to change it. Looks like it should snap out, but I pull it with all my might and it doesn't budge! I have the Dyson yellow one (forgot the name) but its the cheapest one.

Hi, just go to www.sparesaver.com and click on their Technical Advice section. They have full instructions accompanied by full colour photographs It's fantastic. Everything you need will be there.

Sounds like you have a DC01. After undoing the 3 screws that secure the sole plate, the belt and brush bar will come off in your hand. There is no need to remove the other part that you are describing. Anyway, to remove that, you need to prize it free from the end furthest from the belt then it should come away (with the head tipped fully down).
