Our hotpoint 1st edition does not seem to spin fully?. I s this a filter prob as the belt is good and tight. is the filtewr the bit bottom right at back ?
its the carbon brushes in the motor,very common fault on hotpoints,the motor is a bit small for the job its being asked to do,in my humble opinon (i have been in the trade 37 years)

What makes you think that the filter has anything to do with the drum not spinning fast enoug? The filter protecs the pump from debris from blocking it and has nothing to do with the drum functioning.
