indesit evolution we16 started smoking during wash cycle problem appears to be from capacitor like unit at rear of machine, has anyone similiar experience and if it is this unit where I can obtain a replacement unit

My Indesit washing machine also took up smoking only yesterday. this happens to be 2 weeks after the one year warranty ran out.
Not found the exact problem yet as it tripped the RDC on the home fusebox. Me not being an electrical engineer i simply unplugged it and blamed the missus for overloading it. However i do wish to have a go at fixing it before admitting defeat and calling a proper engineer out

if your machine is less than a year old go back to the store and demand a replacement as that is dagerous or if covered by a warranty tell them to replace it that fault could cause a fire
