The knob on top is the blind stitch knob. There is a slotted screw under the pointed side of the knob you must loosen using a flat-head screwdriver. If it has never been taken off, it may appear to be stuck, but carefully apply more twisting force and it will break loose. Once you have loosened the screw, the knob will easily slide off the shaft. Be sure when putting the knob back on, that you line up the screw with the flat side of the shaft.
