how to replace the spin cycle saftey switch?

I have a seris 80 Kenmore washer. the little switch that the lid depresses when closed has broken. this is the saftey switch that lets the machine start the spin cycle. does anyone know how to access this part of the washer? do I have to take the back off or can i access the switch from the bottom.....

Hello,

First remove the screws in front of the console and flip the console back (You may have plastic caps hiding these). After that you will see the lid switch harness just unplug it. Now remove the two spring clips with a flat screwdriver. Finally, stand in front of the washer and tilt the whole cabinet forward. The whole cabinet is removed in one piece. The lid switch is accessable underneath.
