ASKO 10505 WASHER - Belt?

Is it easy to replace a belt on an ASKO washing machine?
Anon, August 2006
Replacing the belt is similar to replacing the fan belt in a car. Unplug the machine from the electric socket. Do not proceed until the machine has no electrical connection. Remove the back from the washing machine. The old belt will probably be broken or stretched. Note that the motor is hinged on one side and on the other there is a tightening nut that swings in an arc. Make a note of the current position with a pencil line. Loosen the nut on the arc front and at the rear of the motor. THe motor should now be loose enough to move. Place new belt over drum and then lift motor to get spindle inside belt. Ensure the grooves in the belt connect to the grooves on the end of the motor spindle. Swing and push motor along arc to stretch belt tight. Ideally your pencil marks will line up. Tighten the holding nuts front and back.Spin the drum to check correct fitting. IF all OK, replace back and screws. Reconnect electricity and if you ahve done it right then machine will work. If the belt is too loose it may fall off and you will have to repeat exercise. Good luck

My belt went and I took off the back cover. I would think it would be pretty easy to replace. I am currently trying to source a replacement belt.
