I take it you did a continuity check with a multi meter to prove that power has reached the switch. Does it go through the switch when switch is in the 'on' position? Need to check both terminals if double pole switch.
If that's OK next stop is the motor and connections to it. Could be loose connection, broken field coil wire, sticking or worn carbon brushes, faulty thermal cut out. The armature could have even gone, was it noisy or had burning smell before it died.
Unless your qualified or experienced with electric motors it's best to get it checked out by someone in the domestic appliance repair trade.
