Hotpoint WD640?

Hi,

I have a Hotpoint washer/dryer (WD640) which is about 4 years old. Yesterday when running an empty machine on 95 degrees to clean it the main power switch cut out all the electricity in my house. The problem is with the washing machine as whenever I turn the main switch for the machine on, the mains power switch cuts off. I have changed the fuse in the socket, but did this did help. What could be wrong? Is it the machine or my electrics?

Apologies for the lack of technical language.

Thanks
Tom

dont bother sending your main board anywhere the fault will be with one of your elements most likely the dryer, easiest way is to disconnect wires from heater and try it out

EMW, aye that'll be right, March 2011
Why not send your main module for test ? It is located in the bottom of the machine at the back in a white plastic box. Cost of repair is £49.90+vat plus postage of £5+vat. Include your name/address/daytime tel
