my hot point wmf 740 wont work ?

ive had it 12 months but the last few days it wont wash every time i put a wash on it keeps going on to f_5 and all the lights flash

Did you buy it new ? It sounds like the motor brushes are worn out (cheap and fairly simple to replace), but they should last 5 or more years normally. Buy a pair of brushes from ebay.
