You have a switch with two wires?

A switch in one position connects the two wires together and in the other position it disconnects them.

Switches often have three terminals Com, L1 & L2

In one position Com is connected to L1 and when the switch is operated Com gets connected to L2.

Use Com and one of the other ones.
