1998 smiley 2.5 diesel transit?

Please can anyone tell me if this model should have a glow plug indicator light on the dash when starting up? is this the flame start light they say about in the transit owners handbook? my van doesn't have any light coming on or make any noise but does start ok. Thanks in advance.

no, transit 2.5 is direct injection and needs no glow plugs ,flamestart is mainly for cold countries
