WVD24520GB/01 goes through its program until just 1 minute remains but then it stays washing & doesnt complete & then rinse or drain. You have to manually turn the dial onto rinse and spin. It doesnt automatically complete its cycle anymore. The filter seems clear and there are no obvious blown components on the control module.

The heater element is probably caput. The machine continues the wash cycle until it has reached the set temperature. If the element has gone it just keeps washing and waiting so will not switch on to the next cycle. It is a bit tricky to change the element as you have to remove the front cover of the machine to withdraw it. Hope this helps.
