Where can I get my Sony NW-A1200 MP3 player repaired?

My Sony NW-A1200 MP3 player apparently won't accept a charge.

I switch it on and the screen tells me that it is low on battery. So I connect all the charger components up and switch on. I get a short greeting on the screen and the battery indicator flashes as though it is charging. Then it goes blank and the battery icon ceases and shows only one bar.

I press the play button or the option button and all i get is the greeting again and then a blank screen.

The red light on the plug which fits into the player from the charger remains on throughout.

Here comes the painful bit!

Sony want to charge me £70 just to look at it.

This represents almost 60% of the cost when I bought it new at £120 just over 4 years ago. I thought I was buying a quality product that would last years, (certainly with the infrequency that I use it anyway!).

Does anyone know of any independant repairers. It would be fantastic if they were in reach of the Conwy area of North Wales but anything in the UK would be considered as long as they have a good reputation.
