Humax PVR changing channels un-prompted?

We have been using our Humax PVR virtually trouble free for 2+ years but this evening, whilst watching BBC2 through the Humax, it suddenly changed to BBC1. There was no inadvertant contact with the remote control, it happened 'unprovoked'! I changed channels back to BBC2 and continued to watch the prog for a further couple of minutes before it again reverted to BBC1. This happened several times, sometimes with only seconds between swapping back to BBC2. I managed to get onto the correct channel again and quickly pressed record before it swapped back to BBC1 - it did however record the correct station. I tried re-searching and storing the channels but this didn't fix it. However, I became aware of a message appearing very briefly in the top right hand corner of the picture which said something like 'please wait' but it was only there (frequently) for ~half a second a time. Any ideas anyone??

Many thanks for the update. BBC have supplied a temporary fix at 17.00 today 16th March although not clear whether the fault is caused by data in a Teletext message or the onscreen Retune at the end of March warning. Affects v1.00.23 firmware not earlier versions. BTW local Tx is Beckley but it was happening everywhere.

Update: have a look on digitalspy.co.uk forums. There is a large thread about this problem. Latest theory is that it is a fault with the PVR-9200 and messages informing of the digital switchover. Humax are aware but no resolution as yet.

Exactly the same problem started with my 9200T last night (15/03/2011). I am in Walsall area, so Sutton Coldfield transmitter.

Not an answer: this started happening yesterday 15th March to my 9200T also. I am located in South Oxfordshire which has had problems in the recent past with the transmitter mast at Headington, north of Oxford. I mention this in case the fault is not with the Humax but with the transmission - might the Humax look for the nearest substitute channel if it loses a signal?

No answer either, sorry!, but my 9200T has started doing this yesterday too (15th March) - any coincidence?

Sorry not an answer - but the same thing happened to me yesterday evening (15th March 2011). I tried re-scanning as you did, switched off & on again. Problem persisted. Had to revert to TV tuner to watch BBC2. Looking forward to an answer,
