when i lock the window handle down on the bathroom window the levers underside the frame are not sliding in the metal connecters on the window itself i have taken the handle out and the metal shaft at the back of the handle looks okay but as stated above are not dropping down enough to connect with the other parts on the bottom of the frame itself to make the window fully secure.

The keeps on the frame are out of line, take them off & refit one at a time. Possible the sash has moved for some reason, hard to say not knowing size.
