Sometimes the blockage is outside - in the inspection pit.
Before making a mess in the house check outside - look for the pit - look inside - then you'll know.
If the pit is blocked the exit pipe will point towards the road. Use a stick to attempt to pull the blockage back into the pit rather than trying to force it down the pipe.
