Are any other needles compatible with the Brother KH891 knitting machine, have only seen 1 advert for 2nd hand needles.

If you buy a copy of Machine Knitting Monthly, you will find various companies which sell machine needles, other accessories and yarn.
machineknittingmonthly.net also has a section where you can order spares, including needles.
