Any ideas why my cold water mixer tap won't work?

Hi,

I went to turn on the cold water tap of a mixer tap in the kitchen and it only came out as a dribble. At the time the shower and dishwasher were on so I assumed it was due to this.

But still the problem remains. I have removed the tap outer part and turned the actual inner part, so it isn't just an issue of not gripping.

Any ideas on what is wrong?

Thanks for your help.

Well. it's one of three types: rotary-ball, ceramic disk or a 'cartridge' .
The actual faucet handle is removed with a hex wrench or a screwdriver, depending on what you've got there.
When you get it out, look for corrosion or foreign goo in the cold side of the disk/ball/cartridge.
Best to head over to your local hardware with it and they'll
know what's what with it
