Plumbing?

Gents In our cricket pavilion we have numerous burst pipes. We started yesterday to repair them and found we cannot get the fittings on. Presumably the copper pipe has expanded almost to the point where standard 22mm will go into the existing! Presumably we need to go back to unaffected pipe which judging by the split paintwork on the outside of the pipes could mean extensive replacement.
Would it be advisable to replace these sections in plastic?

yes mainly because of cost of mats , labour it might not however solve the problem entirely whilst plastic pipe won't normally split due to frost the fittings will so either drain down or keep warm
