My Neptune starts, fills with water and makes all it's funny sounds, but at the end of the wash I notice that the water is still there. I also have noticed that it no longer locks - Maytag troubleshooting states that the machine will not spin or tumle unless door is closed and locked....

I'd bet your pump is gone. I've just recently replaced the pump on my machine.

I've still got the old pump, there was a safety pin caught in the front rotar. I removed the foreign object & I taped up a few wires....works perfectly now.

Check the wires leading to the power socket & that they are not getting wet.
