How can I install one garage door opener to open two doors?

Isn't there a way to install one garage door opener that opens both separate side-by-side garage doors? What type of opener should be used?

the only way to achieve this is on roller door where there is one long shaft serving both doors. it can be achieved on up and over door.. but only retractable gear, and even then would be a completely inproper installation, the motor would need to be set in between the two doors and a jig made up to connect both arm brackets together. be aware that both doors would need to be balanced perfectly and exactly the same or this would never work... as an installer this is NOT advisable but can be done :)... i have never done it and never will... from a point of view of safety

I don't know of or heard of any garage door opener able to open two doors with one opener. You'll just have to purchase two of them. Depending on the weight of the door, depends on which one. Standard size door go with 1/2hp, if it's a light weight door, any bigger go with larger opener.
