chain on chain saw gest to tight?

this is for a craftsman chain saw, sorry I didnt get that info in on my question. I suspect the bar but wanted to know if that would cause the chain to tighten so hard the saw would not run. sorry about the confunsion

Sounds like lack of lubrication. Make sure all links are free to move, soak in oil. I've had all these problems as a tree surgeon some 30 years ago!

is the automatic oiler working?if not a lack of lubrication could be the problem ,damaged oil pump drive or blocked line to pump from oil tank.Has the chain come off when operating?drivers that slide in guide bar could be damaged (burred) need to file off burrs.Bar bent or tip on bar jammed with material?
