how long should it take to , fix a clutch pipe in gearbox, of a vauxhall vivaro 2003 5 speed.
garage says needs to take gearbox out to fix.how many hours labour ( at main dealers) should it take. cheers
And that is with doing it on axle stands and it's only a one-person job the hardest part is taking all the front end off all those 10 mil bolts and bleeding after you can't do it with gravity you have to pressurise the system and when you have finished to put the gearbox oil back in in take no notice of the label on the gearbox fill it from the breather pipe roughly about 7.4 l

Take no notice 6 and 1/2 hours what they trying to do make a gearbox from scratch it takes 20 minutes to take the front end off another 15 minutes for the drive shafts then our fellow to an hour to remove the gearbox 10 minutes to fit a clutch all in all it should take no longer than 4 hours that is with your cups of teas and bacon and sausage sandwich

If you have the 1.9cdti it is about 6.5 hours. Note that the gearbox is a 2 person lift
