loose wire on ghd?

my ghd's have loose connection. Its the wire thats attatched to a moulded 2 prong plug, this then sits in an adapter which i have tested and it is working. can I replace the moulded plug with standard british plug.

Cut the plug off above the break and fit a standard 3 pin plug, remembering to fit a 3amp fuse.
