When we turn on any of the taps, fresh water is also coming out of an overflow pipe under the van (not the waste pipe) as a consequence the pressure is also reduced I have read the manual and gone through the procedure for filling tank etc and cannot seem to stop this happening

Hi Linda,

This is (on some vans like my Hymer on Ducato chassis) the hot water tank freeze outlet. This should only open at around 1C to stop the tank splitting in the frost. Sometimes they stick open, the tank is empty until the tap is turned on, water comes in and goes out the open drain. May not be this - but worth a check.
